Hi im Tyler, I have been a barista for 5 years. My coffee journey started when I was just 12 years old, I certainly didn't think this is where my small interest would take me. I was water skiing on the lakes of British Columbia with my family and on some frigid early mornings, I would steal sips of my moms warm coffee just to have a moment of warmth and comfort..

The man who inspired us to start Baba Seed Coffee was our grand dad. "Baba" as he liked to be called, had an interesting life story. From selling music records in Yemen during the civil war of 1962, to founding the first power generation company in Yemen.

It all started in a digital circuits class. It was 1996. Phil and I were both at the University of Calgary studying to become engineers.

Big Mountain Coffee is one of the locally roasted coffees now available at Co-op. Big Mountain opened in 2003 and has been supplying Co-op stores with freshly roasted beans since 2005. Our master roaster and blending specialist have created four unique espresso blends, each with a specific flavour and taste pairing in mind.
