Having a cup of coffee here is the perfect way to relax. In addition to handling specialty coffee, they inform you where the beans are sourced. It is a pleasure to drink the juice, and you receive a little card that indicates where the fruits are sourced from. Despite the simplicity of the pastries and sandwiches, they are the perfect small bites for when you are on the go. I particularly like the large koi pond surrounding the building and the little sitting areas. I recommend visiting this coffee shop!

There is a beautiful outdoor covered area at this cafe located in Son Tra, Da Nang. It has been almost impossible for me to find a drink that I haven't enjoyed, especially Coconut Coffee and Ginger Tea. I found the prices to be reasonable as well.

Their piccolo is out of this world! You know you have a quality coffee shop when their piccolo is so smooth you have a hard time drinking it slowly. I highly recommend it! Their coconut coffee was served with the coffee separate from the coconut iced cream. Most cafes serve this drink directly in a glass, which is not as fun as adding it yourself. Upon pouring the coffee onto the coconut cream, you can enjoy the delicious taste of the delicious slushy coffee that you have created. One of the best coconut coffee I've ever had in Danang!

5. Cong Caphe

Cong Caphe is a chain of coffee shops that can be found throughout Vietnam, but the one in Da Nang is particularly special. The cafe has a vintage and rustic atmosphere, with retro decor and old-school music. They serve traditional Vietnamese coffee, as well as other beverages and snacks.

Cong started in 2007. The first shop of the franchise was a small café, situated on Trieu Viet Vuong street – the historic café street of Hanoi. The name “Cộng” is simply taken from the first word of Vietnam’s official name: CỘNG HOÀ XÃ HỘI CHỦ NGHĨA VIỆT NAM (The Socialist Republic of Vietnam).

The ambiance of this place is truly remarkable. I am particularly fond of the vintage decor that invokes a sense of nostalgia, and the staff's uniform, which resembles that of an army, is impressively cool. In addition to their authentic Vietnamese coffee, they offer an array of other exquisite beverages. The remarkable view of the Han River, right across the cafe, elevates the ambiance, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Though the cafe is usually packed with tourists, making it challenging to secure a seat on some occasions, it speaks to their success. It's worth noting that the price point is slightly elevated, but given the quality of the experience, it's a small price to pay.

What Makes Vietnamese Coffee Different?

Vietnamese coffee is known for its strong, bold and rich taste, which is attributed to its unique brewing method and ingredients. Here are some factors that make Vietnamese coffee different:

  1. Robusta Beans: Unlike most coffee producing countries, Vietnam predominantly grows Robusta coffee beans, which have a higher caffeine content and a stronger flavor profile than the more common Arabica beans. Robusta beans are well-suited for the strong, bold taste of Vietnamese coffee.
  2. Condensed Milk: Vietnamese coffee is traditionally brewed with condensed milk, which is added to the bottom of the cup before coffee is poured on top. The sweetness of the condensed milk balances the strong, bitter taste of the coffee, creating a creamy and satisfying beverage.
  3. Phin Filter: The Vietnamese use a unique brewing method called the phin filter, which consists of a small metal filter that sits on top of a cup or mug. The filter is filled with coffee grounds, hot water is added, and the coffee slowly drips down into the cup. This slow brewing method allows the flavors of the coffee to fully develop, resulting in a strong and flavorful cup.
  4. Ice: Vietnamese coffee is often served over ice, making it a refreshing and energizing drink that is perfect for hot weather.

There are many popular coffee shops in Vietnam, and the most popular one can depend on the region and personal preferences. However, one of the most well-known and iconic coffee shops in Vietnam is Trung Nguyen Coffee. Trung Nguyen is known for its high-quality coffee beans and blends, which are sourced from the best coffee-growing regions in Vietnam. They also offer a wide range of coffee drinks, including the traditional Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, as well as innovative and creative coffee concoctions. In addition to its coffee shops, Trung Nguyen also sells its coffee products online and in supermarkets throughout Vietnam and other countries.

Vietnam is known for producing high-quality coffee, and several regions in the country are known for their unique coffee flavors and characteristics. Here are some of the most notable coffee-growing regions in Vietnam:
