Barrow Coffee Roasters is a grassroots Calgary based coffee roasting company with a focus on the development of high quality coffee services and the facilitation of meaningful connections within the community.
We believe great coffee is a result of sustainability and social change. When visiting coffee producing farms in Guatemala, we learned that 70% of the work force are women yet it is difficult for these women to access loans, technology and education in coffee producing countries. The solution is a simplified value chain. Instead of 8 steps to bring coffee to the customer, our coffee only has 3. We buy directly from Chica Bean, a women's cooperative in Guatemala who produce green coffee beans, transport this product to our Calgary Roasting facility where we do the remaining processing, and directly serve our customers.
