Story

At Collective Coffee Roasters, we believe that the impact of coffee goes beyond the cup. The vast majority of the world’s coffee is produced in developing countries where many farmers are struggling to earn a fair wage. The commodity price for coffee has been on a steady decline for the past couple of years. Coffee is harvested 3-5 years after planting, meaning that farmers are now losing money on every pound they sell. At Collective Coffee Roasters we bypass the commodity market to ensure that farmers are paid a fair price for their coffee. We do our best to meet our farmers in person, putting people and relationships over profit. We believe that paying a fair wage for farmers to grow their businesses and create jobs has the power to change circumstances in their own country.
