Within the bustling community of Kensington, right on 10th Street you’ll find Regal Cat Cafe at 303 10 Street NW. This cafe was Calgary’s first cat cafe to open! They’ve been around for a number of years and not to our surprise they’ve been recently acquired by the Meow Foundation due to their work also helping connect cats with new homes. Outside of regular visiting hours, every Wednesday the cafe has an adoption night where you can go in and potentially find a kitty to adopt.

They typically will have 6 to 12 cats in a separate room from the cafe where you can relax, cuddle and play with the kitties. Every 2 or 3 weeks a new group of cats will arrive for you to continue enjoying a variety of feline friends.
Cafe & Mi (Closed)
12 Royal Vista Way Northwest #1134, Calgary

From the time of writing Cafe & Mi is now officially shut 😢. Regal Cat Cafe is now the only place in town to get your kitty fix. We’ll update this article in the future when other options open up.
With so many coffee shops popping up across the city it’s nice to see some variety of places we can go. Funny enough heading to a cat café reminds me of being back in Japan, and surrounding myself with so many friendly cats. It’s an experience unlike any other. They’re also great for taking your kids if you have a busy household but don’t have your own cats or pets at home.
According to Google now, there’s only one cat café in Calgary for you to check out as Cafe & Mi is now closed. If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing date night activity, heading to Regal Cat Cafe will be your only option.
