Coffee Mate is helping us all slow down this Thanksgiving holiday season by offering a new promotion: Skip running in your local 5K turkey trot marathon and you will have a chance to win $5,000. Sounds strange right? Normally most corporate companies are pressing to help consumers focus on fitness and calories. But who isn't to say that a little mental health breath and spending time with your friends and family isn't good for you as well?

What is the $5K for 5K sweepstakes?

It's quite simple, the company wants you to have the chance to win $5,000 by not participating in your 5K. Seems like some pretty easy money, right? Sign a pledge that you'll keep away from your local turkey trot for a chance to win. The catch? At the time of writing this, you only have 3 more days to enter as it ends on November 24, 2022.

"Here at Coffee mate, we know better than anyone that the morning coffee routine is not only personal, it's sacred. Every Thanksgiving, the infamous 5K run poses a potential disruption to that ritual,"

Leonardo Aizpuru, Nestlé Senior Director of Brand Marketing and Leader of the Creamer Business Unit

"As coffee's perfect holiday mate, we're encouraging people to slow down this year and savor Thanksgiving morning—a holiday where comfort is king. This pledge is a fun way to honor our fans' individual coffee routines, whatever the perfect morning cup looks like to them."

Who's eligible to enter?

To qualify for the contest, you must be 18 years or older (or 19+ for AL & NE) and a U.S. resident. There is a limit of one entry per person. A total of $5,000 will be awarded to two winners. November 28 is the date on which winners will be chosen.

Meet the expert

My coffee journey spans 15 years of diverse experiences. Starting from those first sips, my passion for the industry has grown steadily. I've enjoyed working at a local coffee shop, exploring cultures worldwide, meeting incredible farmers on plantation tours, and helping launch a family member's coffee roasting venture. Throughout this journey, discovering and buying coffee from local roasters to support community businesses has been a pleasure. Through Roast Love, I aim to create content that informs, raises awareness, and helps you, the reader, buy and brew that perfect cup of coffee.
